2 Years 8 Months Old

  • Started sleeping in a big-boy bed (and I must admit--after not really thinking it was a big deal, I am shocked by how grown up he is, and was a wee bit emotional about it)
    • on that note...he just started sleeping with his stuffed whale we got him his first Christmas (he never wanted to sleep with an animal or anything before this)
  • He continues to VERY consciously ride the line in terms of following the rules, but manages to most of the time, do what we ask (did I say most of the time???? we must be having a good day...)
  •  Always running around with his tongue sticking out of his mouth like a little puppy (a trait he inherited from his father)
  • Started added "...or something?" to the end of his phrases: "Are we going to go on a walk or something?"
  • His favorite book right now is "Train" by Elisha Cooper (we got it for him for Easter)
  • Continues to love looking for flowers on our evening walks with Dakota
  • Says, "silly mama!" all the time (I agree)
  • His imaginary play has really come alive in the last month--a lot of talking as if he is trains, characters, etc. and composing what must be quite the imaginary world
  • Continues to use the potty occasionally (at least daily), but not yet regularly
  • LOVES going to the zoo and wandering around the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens
  • Continues to love his music class with "Mr. Alex" who he talks about nonstop to and from class
  • Lots of stomp tantrums--thinking he should join the cast of Stomp?
  • "But I want to..." OH I KNOW!
  • Simply cannot figure out how to get out of a shirt--he manages to get one arm up through the neck hole (one shoulder shirt style) and thinks he's completed the task
  • Has started proclaiming what we will do any given day and thinks if he does it will happen: "We're going to the zoo today!" "No, Cedar, we aren't buddy." "Yes, mama, we are!" "WE ARE!" "YEEEEESSSSSSSSSS" ... it devolves from there
