2 Years 5 Months

  • Loves to sing songs
    • He will go into the bathroom with the ukelele and shut the door and then sing twinkle twinkle little star while strumming
    • He plugs his ears when he sings in front of us because I think he thinks we can't hear him if he does it
    • Wakes up fairly often in the middle of the night singing
    • "Happy Birthday" is one of his favorite songs and rather hilariously before nap the other day he requested me to sing it
  • Started music class and art class and LOVES both--the smile never leaves his face during either
  • He received some Thomas books for Christmas and I think at this point we have read each of them about 6.2 billion times
  • Another favorite toy right now is Mr. Potato Head (he hilariously will usually only put him back together correctly--never anything in a wrong spot)
  • He had a cold this past month and would walk around the apt. saying, "I need a wipe!" and also pretending to sneeze
  • One day at the park, Cedar said to PJ, "Papa come sit here." And then when he did, Cedar looked and him and said, "What do you wanna talk about?"
  • He loves to "play" with Dakota, ie: read her books, bring her pillows to rest her head on (Thanks Cedar!) and drive cars around her wherever she is laying (this dog is a SAINT)
  • Just getting the hang of saying more complete sentences. For example instead of "I need __." He's almost graduated to "Can I have a ___ please?" I mean...most of the time, we're not perfect!
  • Has developed an obsession with going to school, and gets incredibly upset when I tell him he is too young to go to school because he is 2 (this morning it was fat lip, big tears and a lot of crying); when i told him that at school you can learn how to read--he was ELATED, let's hope this stays!
  • Other funny / sweet phrases: "You wanna play with me Mama?", "I have an idea" (YIKES!), "It's not working, I think it needs batteries" (WHAT? HOW DID HE FIGURE THIS OUT!), "I went potty mama, just like tiger!" (referring of course to Daniel Tiger...whatever works folks)
  • Trains trains trains, this boy loves his trains (and the old original episodes of Thomas I make him watch--ha!)
