OH the emotion. I'm in awe that a year has passed for two reasons: 1) I can't believe that Cedar is that old and 2) I still feel like I have no idea what I'm doing. What an immense blessing C is to PJ and I. It's hard to put into words what having him in our family has been like--and that's not to say it's all been easy--but when that tarzan-haired child looks my way and flashes his 3-tooth grin, it's pretty hard to remember why I was so frazzled just moments before.

To commemorate his first birthday, we had WAY too many people over to our apartment who all generously and sweetly celebrated with us at "Camp Cedar". C was very unsure about his cake at first (TEARS, SO MANY TEARS!), but eventually decided it was pretty darn good.

I'm not going to do my regular 12 month recap mostly because he's almost 13 months, and the month has sort of blended together, so stay tuned. I will mention however, that totally unprompted and unprovoked, Cedar started clapping the day before his birthday, which was both adorable and somehow incredibly fitting in demonstrating the celebration that was to take place. Thanks for following along on our journey. XOXO!
